Steel & Hardness

Blade steel: Damascus Steel

Hardness: 58 to 62 HRC (Rockwell scale)

Hand-forged layered steel folded to reveal a distinctive flowing wave pattern — no two blades are alike. Prized for its hard cutting edge and excellent edge retention. Hand wash, dry immediately, and apply a light coat of food-grade oil to protect the etched pattern.

Dimensions & Weight

Exact measurements for this piece are being added — reach out and we're happy to confirm dimensions before you order.

Care & Maintenance

Hand wash only with warm water and mild soap, and dry immediately — never leave a blade soaking or run it through a dishwasher. Wipe on a light coat of food-grade mineral oil after use to protect the steel, and store it dry in a sheath, knife roll, or on a magnetic strip. A few seconds of care after each use keeps a hand-forged edge true for decades.

Personalisation & Engraving

Make it truly yours — we can engrave a name, date, monogram, or graphic on most of our blades using a 50-watt fiber laser for crisp, permanent detail.

Simply send us your engraving details by email after placing your order and we'll take care of the rest.

Shipping & Returns

Every order ships tracked across Canada and the USA, with free shipping on orders over $150. In-stock pieces leave the forge within a few business days; made-to-order pieces take a little longer, and we'll keep you posted along the way.

If something isn't right when it arrives, reach out to our team — we review every return request with care and will always work with you to make it right.

About this piece

A hand-forged Damascus steel bowie knife with a clean clip-point profile, a dual brass quillon guard, and a Pakka wood handle finished with a polished brass butt cap. The Damascus pattern runs fully edge to edge — no two blades fold quite the same way, so the grain on yours will be one-of-a-kind. Comes complete with a leather sheath for carry and storage.

The details: Damascus steel (58–62 HRC) — hand-forged layered steel folded to reveal a flowing wave pattern, with a hard cutting edge and excellent edge retention. Brass quillon guard and matching brass butt cap. Pakka wood handle — a resin-stabilized hardwood, dense and stable, built to resist warping and moisture better than natural wood alone. Full tang construction. Includes a leather sheath. Hand wash, dry immediately, light coat of food-grade oil to protect the pattern.

Built to be handled, built to be kept: The brass fittings and Pakka wood grip give this bowie a classic, refined look that holds up to real use — camp chores, display, or both. A striking piece for collectors and everyday users alike.

Every piece leaves the forge ready for a lifetime of use — our Knife Care guide covers the few simple habits that keep a hand-forged edge that way.

FAQ

Does it come with a sheath? Yes — every knife ships with a leather sheath for safe carry and storage.

What is Pakka wood? A resin-impregnated hardwood that's denser and more moisture-resistant than natural wood, popular for knife handles because it resists cracking, swelling, and warping.

Will Damascus steel rust? Damascus is a high-carbon steel, so it can rust if left wet. Wipe it dry and apply a light coat of oil after each use, and it'll hold an edge better than almost any other steel for decades.

What does "full tang" mean, and why does it matter? The blade steel runs the full length of the handle in one piece — better balance and durability in the field.

01 — Forged

Shaped at the anvil

Bar stock is heated and hammered to shape by hand — every bevel drawn out at the anvil, never stamped from a sheet.

02 — Tempered

Hardened true

Each blade is hardened and tempered in controlled cycles, balancing a keen, hard edge with a resilient spine.

03 — Finished

Fitted & inspected

Ground, polished and fitted with its handle, then inspected edge to pommel before it ever leaves the forge.
