Care & Maintenance
Hand wash only with warm water and mild soap, and dry immediately — never leave a blade soaking or run it through a dishwasher. Wipe on a light coat of food-grade mineral oil after use to protect the steel, and store it dry in a sheath, knife roll, or on a magnetic strip. A few seconds of care after each use keeps a hand-forged edge true for decades.

Full-price items can be returned within 14 days of delivery, unused and in their original packaging. Sale items and engraved pieces are final sale. If any piece, including a sale or engraved piece, arrives damaged, defective or incorrect, contact us and we'll refund or replace it and cover the return shipping.

About this piece
A Damascus cleaver with a hand-twisted steel handle.
A rectangular Damascus steel blade for chopping and portioning on the board, joined to a forged steel handle. The handle is twisted like rope, then bent into an open hook that ends in a small curl.
- Damascus steel blade: layered steel with a flowing pattern. No two blades are alike.
- Rope-twist handle: twisted and shaped by hand at the forge.
- Hook end: hang the cleaver on a rail or hook when it is not in use.
- Leather sheath included.
- Free engraving: up to 20 characters on the blade or on the leather sheath. Engraving adds 2 business days, and engraved pieces are final sale.
Size (approximate): about 12 in (30 cm) overall, with a blade of about 5 in (13 cm). Every cleaver is forged by hand, so sizes vary slightly.
